Let’s talk about technology and how it impacts our lives.
Question 1:
In what ways has technology changed the way people communicate with each other?
Candidate
Technology has significantly changed the way we communicate by making it faster and more convenient. Nowadays, people use messaging apps, social media, and video calls, which allow us to stay connected instantly, regardless of distance. In the past, it would take days or even weeks for a letter to reach someone. But now, we can connect with friends or family within seconds. Additionally, the range of communication tools, like emojis and GIFs, has made it easier to express emotions in ways that text alone couldn’t convey.

Question 2:
Do you think these changes in communication are positive or negative?
Candidate
I think there are both positives and negatives. On the positive side, people can stay in touch more easily, which is especially helpful for families who live far apart or for international business. However, on the downside, I feel that the constant availability of communication can sometimes create stress. People may feel pressured to respond immediately, even outside of work hours, which can impact their personal time. Additionally, I think over-reliance on digital communication sometimes makes face-to-face conversations less meaningful.

Question 3:
How do you think technology will change the way we work in the future?
Candidate
In the future, I believe technology will continue to transform the workplace, especially with advancements in artificial intelligence and automation. Many routine tasks may be fully automated, allowing employees to focus on more complex or creative work. Remote work will also likely become even more common, as digital tools improve and companies realize the benefits of flexible working arrangements. However, this shift might also bring challenges, like the need for employees to continuously update their skills to work alongside advanced technology.

Question 4:
Do you think people rely too much on technology nowadays? Why or why not?
Candidate
Yes, in many ways, people do rely too much on technology. For example, we often use smartphones for almost everything—from navigating to new places to reminding us about important tasks. This dependence can sometimes lead to a lack of basic skills, like remembering phone numbers or finding directions without GPS. However, I think it’s also about balance. Technology is incredibly useful, and it has improved our lives in numerous ways, but I believe people should make an effort to use it mindfully and not become overly dependent.

Question 5:
What are some of the downsides of using technology in education?
Candidate
While technology has made education more accessible, there are definitely some downsides. For instance, students who rely heavily on digital devices for studying may struggle with concentration, as there are so many distractions online. Furthermore, some studies suggest that too much screen time can negatively affect young people’s ability to focus and retain information. I also think that, in certain subjects, face-to-face interactions with teachers and classmates are crucial for effective learning. Technology can’t entirely replace that human element.

Question 6:
How can parents encourage their children to use technology responsibly?
Candidate
I believe parents can play a big role by setting clear boundaries around screen time and by being role models in their own use of technology. For example, they could encourage “tech-free” hours at home, like during family meals, to show that not everything revolves around digital devices. They could also introduce educational apps and websites that offer valuable content, rather than simply entertaining games. By explaining the benefits and potential risks, parents can help children understand the importance of using technology in a balanced way.
Each response demonstrates:
- Complex sentence structures and advanced vocabulary.
- Balanced viewpoints with supporting reasons.
- Examples that help illustrate key points.
- Coherence and cohesion, making ideas easy to follow and well-linked.
