Part 2 (Long Turn)

Describe a hobby that you enjoy. You should say:

  • What the hobby is
  • How long you have been doing it
  • How often you do it And explain why you enjoy it.

Response:

"A hobby that I really enjoy is baking. I’ve been baking for about three years now, and I try to bake something new every week, especially on weekends when I have more free time.

I started baking as a way to de-stress and relax after a long week of work. It’s a creative process that allows me to experiment with different ingredients and try out new recipes, whether it’s cakes, cookies, or bread. I also love sharing what I bake with my family and friends, which brings a lot of joy and makes the whole experience even more rewarding.

What I enjoy most about baking is that it’s both therapeutic and satisfying. There’s something very calming about mixing ingredients, kneading dough, and waiting for something delicious to come out of the oven. Plus, the smell of freshly baked goods is always a delight!"

Part 3 (Discussion)

1. How do hobbies influence people’s lives?
"Hobbies can have a significant impact on people's lives. They offer a way to relieve stress and provide a sense of fulfillment outside of work or studies. Hobbies can also promote mental well-being by allowing people to express themselves creatively or stay physically active. They are a great way to disconnect from daily pressures and focus on something enjoyable."

2. Are there any leisure activities that are popular in your country?
"Yes, in my country, people enjoy a wide range of leisure activities. Sports like soccer, badminton, and cycling are very popular. Many people also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and going to the beach. Additionally, social activities like watching movies, going out to eat, and spending time with family and friends are common leisure activities."

3. How have leisure activities changed over the years?
"Leisure activities have changed quite a bit over the years, especially with the advancement of technology. In the past, people would often spend their free time outdoors, playing sports, or socializing face-to-face.
