Part 1 (Introduction)

1. Do you care about the environment?
"Yes, I care deeply about the environment. I think it's important to take steps to preserve our planet, like reducing waste, conserving energy, and being mindful of our carbon footprint. After all, our actions today will have a significant impact on future generations."

2. What do you do to help protect the environment?
"I try to do small things daily, like recycling and using reusable bags instead of plastic ones. I also try to cut down on water and energy use by taking shorter showers and turning off lights when they're not needed. Whenever possible, I choose public transportation or carpooling to reduce emissions."

3. Do you think it is important to protect animals?
"Absolutely. Animals play a crucial role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem, and their extinction can have far-reaching consequences on our environment. Protecting animals also means preserving their natural habitats and making sure that human activities don’t negatively impact their well-being."

4. What do you think is the main environmental problem today?
"I believe the most pressing environmental issue today is climate change. The rising levels of greenhouse gases are causing global temperatures to rise, leading to extreme weather events, melting glaciers, and the loss of biodiversity. Urgent action is needed to reduce emissions and promote sustainable living."

5. Are there any environmental problems in your country?
"Yes, in my country, air pollution is a major issue, especially in urban areas. The rapid growth of industry and the increasing number of vehicles have contributed to poor air quality. Additionally, deforestation and waste management are challenges that need to be addressed to improve environmental conditions."

Part 2 (Long Turn)

Describe a place in nature that you enjoy. You should say:

  • Where it is
  • What it is like
  • How often you visit And explain why you enjoy spending time there.

Response:

"A place in nature that I love to visit is a national park near my hometown. It's a beautiful, vast area filled with dense forests, hiking trails, and small lakes where you can see a variety of wildlife, like deer and birds. The park also has scenic spots perfect for picnicking or just enjoying the tranquility of nature.

I usually visit the park at least once a month, often on weekends. It's a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. What I enjoy most about the park is its peaceful atmosphere; it's a place where I can breathe fresh air, listen to the sounds of nature, and simply unwind.

Spending time in the park helps me reconnect with nature, and I find that it has a very calming effect on my mind. The natural beauty and the sense of serenity make it a perfect place for me to relax and recharge."

Part 3 (Discussion)

1. What can individuals do to help the environment?
"Individuals can take several steps to help the environment, starting with simple habits like recycling and reducing the use of single-use plastics. Using public transport, biking, or walking instead of driving can significantly cut down on carbon emissions. Conserving energy by turning off appliances when not in use and choosing eco-friendly products are also great ways to contribute to environmental protection."

2. Do you think governments are doing enough to tackle environmental issues?
"I think that while some governments are making efforts to address environmental concerns, there is still a lot more that can be done. For example, implementing stricter policies on pollution control, providing incentives for renewable energy, and educating the public on sustainability are areas where more action is needed. Global cooperation is crucial since environmental issues often cross borders."

3. How can technology help solve environmental problems?
"Technology can play a vital role in solving environmental problems. For instance, advancements in renewable energy like solar and wind power can help reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. Smart technology can improve energy efficiency in homes and industries, and recycling technologies can help process waste more effectively. Moreover, digital tools can raise awareness and track environmental data, helping both individuals and organizations make more sustainable choices."
